Blue Marlin still the name of the game here at Land's end! The Blacks are starting to show up as well keeping the excitement level high. Better numbers than we have seen all year on the Striped Marlin. All action is still holding on the Cortez side. Gordo Banks is red hot with giant Yellowfin Tuna. Dorado and wahoo are abundant as well as steady inshore action. Long story short, the fishing is incredible the best summer season seen in the past handful of years!!

Cabo Fishing Report August 23

We are about to stop calling it fishing down here, just catching. One angler was shocked to see Dorado actually jumping into the boat!! Before we could get the gaff in a nice bull it shot out of the water and landed on the transom. Take your pick of species, Blue, Black and Striped Marlin are everywhere. Yellowfin tuna abound with many of them topping three hundred pounds. And don't forget to fill the cooler with Dorado.

Cabo Fishing Report August 16

You would have to see it to believe it! October fishing in August, this season is on track to be one of the best in recent years for Big Blue Marlin. This of course is due to the ample supply of Yellowfin Tuna and Dorado. Typical charter is three or four Dorados, six to eight Yellowfin Tuna, a Wahoo , and a hand full of Marlin. Truly non stop action on both sides of the peninsula. Also a generous supply of monster Roosters inshore. Try staying out the extra hour as this has been producing a good bite on the larger Yellowfin, in my opinion it is the best way to nab one over 100lbs.

Cabo Fishing Report August 9

Steady Marlin action continues on the East Cape. North of Gordo Banks, massive schools of White Bonita are holding record numbers of Blue Marlin. The moon cycle is perfect for a solid week of fishing. Early morning bite on the billfish and then hang out through late afternoon and hit some big Yellowfin. We are still riding the late afternoon trend on the Yellowfin and had numerous fish in the 60lb range this week, and two in the 100lb class. Monster Rooster fish available inshore. Also we are seeing tons of Wahoo on a fast troll back to the dock. Striped Marlin are more active than they have been all year. With the number of Dorado we are seeing we can expect to hold on the the fish well in to the fall.

Surface temps and bait supply are in perfect harmony. Peak season is in full swing and seems to be coming a month early this year, as the Sea of Cortez teems with Big Blue Marlin. Of course these wonders of the seven seas are here to feast upon the bountiful supply of Yellowfin Tuna and Dorado. These exciting conditions are providing anglers with trips of a lifetime. Full coolers and trophy class Billfish in the 300 -700 lb range. Sportsman could ask for little more with the short run to the grounds and make or break action with one of the worlds most spectacular predators. Mild seas and warm weather, don't miss summer fishing at Land's End!!

Cabo Fishing Report August 1

Couple of options, stick close to cabo and fill some coolers or run up the East Cape to find the monsters. Plentiful supply for all day action on Dorado, Yellowfin Tuna, and Wahoo within five miles of the Cabo Marina. Or pick up and run to the Gordo banks and troll north in beautiful blue water. Water temps and bait supply are perfect, producing consistent numbers of Blue Marlin and Yelowfin tuna in the 50 -60 lb range. A multi-day trip with a light tackle adventure near Cabo the first day and the second day raising huge Blues and Blacks makes for some world class fishing.

The Yellowfin Tuna continue to resurface in the afternoon as the bulk of the fleet returns to Cabo. Dorado action is steady with Wahoo mixed in. Striped Marlin are biting, and Big Blue and Black Marlin are being raised by trolling lures. The Sea of Cortez has been holding the bulk of the fish, which has made for nice fishing in calm seas. The tournament season kicks off in Los Barriles at the East Cape Bisbee. Inshore fishing is well wirth it this season, 70 to 80 lb Roosters available on either side of the penninsula.

Cabo Fishing Report July 19

Cabo summer fishing is in full swing. We are seeing great water temps and loads of Yellowfin Tuna. Dorado numbers are a bit off due to the lack of Mackerel, however this creates a situation with less competition for other species, such as Jacks, Yellowtail, and Rooster. Best bet right now is a multi-day trip chasin a big Black or Blue Marlin, once she is released go dive into the plentiful action on light tackle!!

Cabo Fishing Report July 14

Blue Marlin still holding in good numbers. Dorado and Yellowfin Tuna are still the main action. Best bite is still on the Gordo Bank in late afternoon. A completely out of season run of big California Yellowtail have been hanging around Lands end between the Arch and the lighthouse bank on the Pacific side. Drifting with small and medium sized live baits have been keeping the sushi guys rolling all over town!!

Cabo Fishing Report July 9

The Blues are here and are in close, Numerous fish over 250lbs were hooked and released within five miles of the arch. Up the East Cape Yellowfin Tuna are in abundance and the hardcore fisherman are being treated with a steady late afternoon bite from the big boys. The larger Yellowfin are not so fond of the noise produced in the early hours by the bulk of the fleet on the normal eight hour days. The guys sticking around an extra hour or two or the lucky few that late start due to the all to common Cabo hangover are seeing the fish rise again and feed aggressively in the last few hours of light. This is well worth the wait, these conditions make for one of a kind opportunities on the water, stick close to cabo and try to release a big Marlin in the beginning of the charter and then pick up and run mid afternoon, this puts you on the Gordo as all the other vessels are returning to port. We will follow this trend and let you know how we come out!! Tight Lines

Cabo Fishing Report June 28

Weekend of great fishing! All boats scoring big smiles with steady Yellowfin Tuna and Dorado Catches. The anglers trolling in the Sea of Cortez were in for a few suprises with multiple Blue Marlin in the 400lb to 500lb range being raised and released. This is looking like it is going to be a great summer season for Cabo. One group of anglers happened upon a dead pilot whale that was stacked with feeding Dorado the column was visible for nearly ten meters down swimming in a circle beneath the whale, casting baits to the edge of the column was a matter of timing trying to spot a big one and lay your bait in front of him. Striped Marlin are still on top of the water being picky about which baits to hit and which to ignore. All in all solid days on calm water in the sun.

june 24 fishing report

Fishing conditions could not get much better! The tropical storms located south and southwest of Cabo are pushing in schools of hungry Pelagics torward our fishing grounds. Yellowfin Tuna are running scared from the increasing numbers of huge Blue and Black Marlin that have been showing up. Bait schools are also holding providing for frequent releases of Striped Marlin and anglers are making it back to the docks with plenty of Dorado and Wahoo to take to their favorite restaurants.

First reports of Blue Marlin being landed on the East Cape, feeding off of the massive schools of Yellowfin Tuna. We also have a wide open bite on large Wahoo. The Dorado are returning in numbers. Inshore Rooster fish are dominating the surf. As the water temps heat up Cabo fishing does the same.
SL

Wahoo. Seriously.

Wahoo are everywhere right now in Cabo, each of our boats brought in at least 3 yesterday. This morning all the boats are going out again, with nothing but wahoo on the agenda. As everyone here knows, the wahoo is the tastiest fish around, so as a result, all that people have been asking about in the shop is how to get in on the action. It started with this 83 pounder caught on the original Slippery Lizzard a couple of weeks ago. Since then, it has been a melee.

May 3, 2010 Fishing Report

Summer in Cabo San Lucas brings with it some of the most amazing fishing on the planet. We have a wide open bite on monster billfish for six months, along with the richest fishing tournaments.

Start off the day fishing for Yellowfin and Striped Marlin, then spend the last few hours inshore on some lighter tackle fighting roosters. We are gearing up now for prime season, Big Blues and Blacks, monster hoos, and Yellowfin Tuna in the 300lb class.

fishing report March 31 2010

The blue water has arrived!!! Terrafin SST reports are showing an excellent temperature break on the Pacific side running over the top of the Golden gate, Light house, and Jaime Banks. These warmer temps. will breathe some life into the offshore bite. Cabo san Lucas has had the best season for Broadbill Swordfish in recent history. Swords are being spotted and caught daily, two or three in the 500 - 600lb class. Also a very nice early season Black Marlin was released on the 28th in the 350 lb range. Yellow fin Tuna are still easily found. Ranging from football sized schoolies on lures to 40 - 150 lb monsters being raised with chunked squid. The roosters are here to stay until the end of summer, and we will still have a few more weeks of solid Sierra Mackerel inshore. Wahoo catches are increasing in size and numbers, and will continue to do so as summer moves in. The annual Dorado migration is well underway making the East Cape a great option for multi day trips out of Cabo.
